Spies, aristocrats, thieves, all of the above - we all have our little secrets. Some of us are content to keep them that way, always in the strictest of confidence. For others, discretion is something that is found in the dictionary. These mitts let you play it both ways: cool, sophisticated black on the outside, while the delicate pink ribbon and contrasting picot welts hint at something more vulnerable and much more interesting.
Strictest Confidence Fingerless Mitts -- Price: $5 (Paypal accepted)
Yarn: Elann Peruvian Highland Sport in black and pink, one skein each
Needles: 2.5 US/3 mm
Gauge: 24 stitches and 36 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Sizes: S (M, L) 5 (6-7, 8-9) inch/12.5 (15-17.5, 20-22.5) cm wrist
Notions: 1 yard 1/4-inch wide sheer ribbon, waste yarn, smooth, contrasting yarn for lifeline
The suggested yarn is discontinued, but it's a pretty standard sportweight wool, so any wool yarn that lets you hit gauge will be an appropriate substitution.
Techniques: Provisional cast-on, knitted-in hem, welts, yarnover, k2tog, stockinette in the round, garter stitch in the round, switching yarn colors. Appropriate for intermediate knitters and above.

If any non-knitters are interested in purchasing the sample, please let me know. (I'd list them on Etsy, but Etsy and I are no longer friends following their privacy fail last month.) They're size M, shown on a 6.25 inch/15.5 cm wrist, and they'll be $20 plus $3 shipping, US only. I do have a cat, if that's a concern for anyone. I'll do commissioned knitting, as well, but there will be a 6-8 week wait and it will cost more, depending on what you want.
My Sweet Cogette Lace Cuffs are also now available for download on Ravelry for $5, as of five minutes ago. :)
