I always fancied Dr Who as a bit Steampunk. Cybermen in Victorian England?  Oh yes.  The current encarnation TARDIS interior?  Oh yes.   I had bought this for the Steampunk World's Faire but it is a bit impractical for me at the moment.  It is a truly gorgeous watch, Dr Who or not.  If someone could give it a good home, I'd be very pleased.

Dr. Who Replica Pocketwatch

EDIT:  Much to my surprise, this actually sold about 2hr after I posted this.  There is a UK seller that also sells these watches occasionally.  He usually ends up selling them for about the same as I sold this one. Very sad to see it go but excited for Xmas money.

If I were a rich scifi geek instead of just a scifi geek, this would be snatched here and now.

This is absolutely gorgeous and sets my heartgears whirring.

$125? I think the BBC official version doesn't go for that much. It is a lovely piece though.

Doctor Who is incredibly steampunk. Have you seen the episode "tooth and claw"? Queen victoria fighting interstellar werewolves is about as steampunk as it gets.

oh doctor who is HELLA steampunk. heard about the upcoming christmas special? its based on "christmas carol," so it will be beautifully victorian set. and the last year's christmas special was "the last doctor" and that was also victorian happiness!!!

also, if you get a chance, check out this beauty, which is entirely doctor who inspired! http://aimeemajor.com/images/costumes/cardea.html (i <3 aimee...)

also, i have that watch. only it was the slightly-cheaper bbc version and it needs an ink wash to bring out the engravings.

The one that looked really Steam, was the 9th doctor's TARDIS.

The new TARDIS interior looks far more Diesel to me. Not that I have any problem with this. :)

Well this depends on how far back you go and I go back a fair way being slightly older than the Doctor by just a few weeks. For most of the time it has been anything but Steampunk. It is only in the last few doctors that it has headed that way. The emphasis used to be Hi-Tech with a few eccentricities. It certainly is more Steampunk now and of curse I strongly approve of that.

Here's a pic of the control room for a large chunk of the show's run during the 70's:

I personally don't think of Doctor Who as being Steampunk™ in the formal sense, but on the other hand Steampunk probably wouldn't exist without Doctor Who, at least not in the same frame of mind.

(first of all, your avatar is the STORY OF MY LIFE xD)

Second, I can totally see some steampunk in Doctor Who! I am an obsessive fan of both :D I'd love to see someone rock out an steampunked Doctor Who costume!
