Some of you may have heard, I had a piece stolen from me at Dragon Con. Not just some ordinary piece but a one of a kind Monicle that was to be in  featured in a Steampunk Exhibit at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford this October.

I'm will pay $200.00 for it's safe return on a "no questions asked" basis.
I will pay $500.00 if it leads to the arrest of the one who stole it.

Remember, it is a one of a kind piece. There will never be another. If you see someone wearing it they are definately connected to the theft and a felony.

I will also produce a custom piece for anyone who gets the theif arrested. Have you been looking at one of those arms thinking $1499.00 is beyond your reach? You Get me this person and I'll make one just for you.

Thomas Willeford

I add my wishes and hopes that the perp is caught to all these here. If I come across someone wearing it, I will very carefully remove the monocle, beat them to a bloody pulp, and then call the police.

Ill hold the monocle for you.

I hope whoever took the monocle takes a long walk off a short plank.

damn, that sucks. beautiful piece.

i do hope you find the person who jacked it.

although i will say that the phrase "there will never be another" is not necessarily true, isn't it? you've posted two pictures here of it, and while it's stunning, it could be re-created by someone else...

Those clear polymer head are the best aren't they. I used them to photograph my masks.

I had friends at Dragon Con so I forwarded this to them so that they could look through their pictures and ask the group they were with. Hopefully someone comes up with some info. Who would be low enough to steal a labor of love from an artist?

I'll make a search bot for e-bay in case the bass-turd who stole is fool enough to tryt o sell it.

Re: e-bay
It'd be a good idea to keep an eye out on etsy, too.

I posted to my personal journal
I've a few friends attend DC this year and spread the word that way. Hadn't seen a post on Brass Goggles yet about it. I would also see to look at Craigslist and other shopping site. eBay I know is covered and I would suggest someone check the AWA that was this past weekend as well. The thief might have been brash enough to wear it. I will also check some other sites of steampunk items as well. You might ask the Foligos to put up notice since they reach just about everyone.

Re: I posted to my personal journal
Actually, AWA is going on this current weekend. (And there is definitely a substantial steampunk presence there.)

I have put out the word on my facebook page, and will not only add one to my Live Journal, but will e-mail several of the local SF groups here in Atlanta to get the word out. I hope it helps.

I remember Ace (maybe..it could have been someone else,) telling me about this.

I remember admiring this piece..its a damn shame that people have to steal from others.

I had something stolen from me as well, a pocket goth doll that I had bought for me niece...of course it doesn't compare, your monocle is worth more than that doll..but I'm disgusted.

Yes, I hate thieves.. I went to a "hippyfest" in the beginning-ish of this year, made a couple things out of hemp, and the best one that I liked was stolen :/ It was only like.. 8 freakin' bucks, fuck. It made me mad since it took me like an hour or so to make.

I wish I could help but I'm in a state that doesn't have Steampunk exclusive cons and I don't think I know any one who may have attended this one.. What state was it in, again?

what a shame! good luck finding it.

I swear I saw a female wearing something very much like this, possibly the same item, in a photo in the Dragon*Con 2009 steampunk pool on Flickr. Did anyone else but you wear it at the con?

I'll put that group on repeating slideshow and keep an eye on it as I work today.

I know it was a woman as well... I had envy over her eye piece.
