Fascinator base

Hello steamy folk, I'm in a bit of a pinch.

I am looking for make a fascinator from scratch, but I couldn't find a base (plain, unadorned) at Joann's... any one know where I can purchase one (online or otherwise).

Thanks all!

In particular: . They attach to the hair by a comb, headband or clip.

Such things should be available at bridal supply stores, or you can try jackmansfabrics.com
They won't be on the website, but if you call the 800 number you can order by phone and have them shipped to you inexpensively. I know for a fact that they carry several kinds of headbands and combs. (Metal combs, plastic combs, both in several sizes.) They may also have the clip type.

I'm looking for the base in particular, where the comb would be attached. I found this website, but it's in Australia and shipping takes a bit too long.

I appreciate your suggestions! I checked both Michael's and Joann's today and nada, not even in the bridal section. I did get the comb, however, along with the feathers and tulle needed :)

Those are made from Buckram. Our JoAnne's carries it but you have to ask someone who actually knows the stock.

Tell me about it. I use buckram on a bunch of stuff I make and everytime I went in to get it. It's omg! what are you talking about.

O hai! Yeah, I'm attempting to make a fascinator for the Goblin Ball next week. Trying to make a hat to go with a 50s dress I have :)

it seems we are all dressing up! i may be having a mini hat made, i've got pants on the way that are then going to be ruffled and altered (because i've decided that sleep is for the weak).

WOW! Exactly what I'm looking for! I just called them and ordered a bunch of stuff. Thank you!

Most of the millinery websites I found earlier were all in Australia... so this is perfect!

I know what you mean. Seems like Australia is the happening place to be if you're a milliner, so I was very happy to find a US website. I've made a number of fascinators with her buckram bases; they work great!

Does this "Hats by Leko" sell outside USA? I couldn't find any information about that. :(

Pity if they won't, I would need a tricorn base and I really don't know how to make one.

I think I will look elsewhere. I found some info about international shipping, but I didn't understand a thing (the explanation also included a broken link to Usps...great? ).

I think I won't call either, I live in Finland! :D

buying fascinator bases...
Hi!
I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I make and sell both leather goods AND buckram hat forms and bases for fascinators. I have pre-made sizes and shapes, and I am more than willing to do custom work as well. You can see my work on artfire or etsy, and links to both of those on my page on FaceBook. Below are the links, as well as my email and phone...feel free to contact me to buy these items, or even just to talk shop or ask advice. I'm happy to help. I hope to have some videos posted soon about hatmaking...Thanks, Stephanie Turner www.facebook.com/blueflameleather
