Ok I am home now and finally was able to sort through my pictures. Here are some more that I didn't include in my last post.
If I didn't mention who you are I apologize. Just comment in this post who you are.
(lots of photos)
First off Steampunk was really popular this year. I didn't see a lot of people wearing it (as opposed to the @200,000 people that attended I would say 1% were in Steampunk outfits). However, the press went crazy for it. Here is MSN interviewing a motley time travel crue. At the panel there were several reporters there from various web publications, magazines and NPR.
This guy was the first person I saw in a Steampunk outfit. Beside him is the lovely , beautiful, and talented bettine_punkn (aka Heather E. Hutsell)
The Steampunk panel wasn't formal but was supposed to be just a forum of like minded folks. Everyone that wanted to talk about their clothing and about Steampunk picked up the mic and talked. This couple looked smashing. I was way too close to be able take a full length photo but this woman created her own dress (and it was reversible that was purple colored!)
This chap created this invention that I forgot what it did (if you are this chap please comment in this post and explain). It did something cool!
I thought her outfit was interesting
This chap just started getting into Steampunk and fashioned his entire outfit in 3 days. He was also a Steampunk ghost buster.
This is the back of his rig
It glows and sparks in the back!
Time traveler lady
A fine chap and his alien life form.
This was a Benjamin Franklin Steampunk chap. When you pulled a lever on the back of his pack a kite sprung out.
The back rig of a ghost buster. It had compressed CO2 that actually tooted like a train (you can see the pipe on the left). The glass tube sparked electrical currents.
The lady Fishnet Fatale in a pretty cool corset made of gears!
Random shot of everyone getting lined up for the group photo
Another one from the group shot from an earlier posting. I love the feathers the chap on the far right has.
More from the group shot
GUNS! Check out the guy on the far left how long his gun is (stop it!) it's made of solid brass. The chap on the far right is Kim Hutsell . His gun was made of solid brass as well and glowed red on the bottom. It also has a photo flash on the sides so you can flash a burst of light at people with it.
Photo of the gun in it's case
I had to take a photo of </b></a>
Weta was there and here is one of their guns
Another gun
Another gun

So that is it. I also have videos taken from the panel and I will edit one montage of videos tomorrow and post it for those of you that couldn't make it.

Additionally - I'm the guy in the group picture with the enormous gun. ;) It will always remain a work in progress but I'm also progressing on other steampunk costumes with suitable accoutrement.

we were at an Adult Swim party!! we got our picture with Seth Green and some of the venture Bros.....Steampunks represent!!
someone please tell me where i can get a skirt like this!
If you're hesitant to sew, try combing the thrift shops, because tier skirts are usually pretty available as summer wear (at least in my region).
This one looks like the "alteration" was to pin or seam the front much shorter than the back, to give the cutaway look--very cute, very effective.
If anyone is interested (shameless plug, couldn't help myself) the Weta guns, top to bottom are The Goliathon 800 Moon Hater (and at a bad angle the FMOM Industries Wave Disrupter Gun), The Victorious Mongoose 1902a Concealable Ray Pistol, Lord Cockswain's Blunderbus and finally in the foreground, a Manmelter 3600 zx. More info can be found on Dr Grordbort's website or in the Contrapulatronic Dingus Directory
