Nifty bandolier

Hey everyone, I'm fairly new to steampunk costuming, but thanks to a certain post I now have a pretty good idea of how I'm going to go about choosing pieces and parts. (Thanks, drhaggis. :-) )

Before I start hitting you guys up for props ideas, I thought I'd share something I came across in my research: the Shotcha Bandolier. It isn't exactly cheap at $90 for "real faux leather," but it certainly gives me ideas.

I'm glad I could inspire you!

The strap I made was really easy, providing you are close to a Tandy Leather store. I used pre-tanned leather, a few grommets, rivets and a purse clasp for the buckle.

The vials were the hard part, but I found a vial merchant on eBay and they were about a buck a piece.

I can't wait to see what you end up with.

When I saw the one you made for your lovely wife, I thought I'd do a bit of research to see what was available ready-made, as I adore the idea of a bandoleer with vials in front. So much, in fact, that I'm trying to come up with a persona who could wear such a thing. I have a couple ideas right now, and I'll probably post about them later and see if anyone has helpful prop ideas.

I just checked, and there appears to be a Tandy not very far from my office! I'll have to go investigate what they have over lunch sometime soon. Thanks for the tip!

I'm guessing that might be from the dye used on the 'real faux leather,' maybe?

Could also be referring to the alcohol.
